La

Pupazza

When I paint, I’m immersed and feel like I’m almost becoming a physical part of the magical places in my art.

La Pupazza

Salento-born street artist Eleonora De Giuseppe—known as La Pupazza —was born in Tricase (Lecce) in 1985 and developed strong personal visual imagery from a young age. After graduating from the G. Comi Social Sciences High School and studying at the DAMS (Arts and Music) program in Bologna, she adopted the stage name La Pupazza in 2008 and began creating her first murals in Southern Italy, using an urban language recognizable for its dreamlike, psychedelic, and visionary atmospheres. Her style stands out in a luminous, chromatic space, where figures set in colorful bubbles and cosmic scenarios depict an evolving world, devoid of sharp edges or dullness, but full of surprise, energy, and transformation.

Further trained with a Master’s degree in Plastic Design from the Polytechnic University of Milan, she collaborated with brands and institutions—for example, wineries, music festivals, and urban developments—and created large-scale projects such as the decoration of electrical substations, urban barriers, and large murals in Milan. Her signature symbol is a black eye with long lashes, the protagonist of murals, paintings, and photographic performances involving thousands of people under the slogan “La Pupazza non è pazza.” In her works, urban art transforms into a generative narrative: the world seen upside down becomes a space for desire, creativity, and collective participation. With exhibitions in Italy and abroad (Berlin, London, Paris, Amsterdam) and ongoing projects such as the traveling exhibition Molto Sugo and an animated series for children, her artistic research continues to surprise and inspire.
