For me, paintings are the goosebumps on the walls.
They are the butterflies in the stomach of a room.

Aria Carelli

Aria Carelli blends a dreamy, delicate, and oneiric reality in her paintings, creating a refined blend of music, art, and poetry inspired by the words that most move her soul. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, she moved to Milan to specialize at the IED (European Design Institute) and launch a career in design. However, she soon abandoned 3D graphics and her office job, finding her true essence in the materiality of traditional drawing.

The Cannon Woman’s striped stockings and the hat of the Man with the Almost Nonexistent Hat are the main recurring subjects in the artist’s works. She expresses herself with acrylics and ink, expressing her thoughts in the air, guided by poetry, songs, and lyrics (especially those of Italian singer-songwriters). Her subjects are portrayed in a dance that sees them move in a dreamlike, unreal, and absurd space that is both fascinating and disturbing, giving life to a multifaceted and vibrant representation of the artist’s unconscious and soul. Her works, accompanied by handcrafted frames individually selected for each painting, are truly unique, unrepeatable pieces, designed to be a direct representation of the inner wonder of the person who chooses them, like mirrors reflecting the self of the person who recognizes themselves in them.

Among the activities in which she was the protagonist was an exhibition dedicated to her works at the PiolaLibri literary café in Brussels entitled Quasi non esiste (Almost does not exist) (2018). Currently, the Pisacane Arte Gallery in Milan hosts some of her works, but her art is not intended to be exclusively confined to exhibitions and galleries, but rather to be “among people”, inside clubs (Fishbar De Milan , 2022), during cultural events (La Rocca delle Arti , 2024), or in restaurants (in October 2025 she collaborates with Nozza Restaurant).
