Biography, Projects, and Available Works

Aj Roi

Aj Roi (Federico Ajello), born in Udine in 1998, demonstrated vibrant creativity from a young age, which took shape in the spring of 2022 when he began his artistic career. In less than two years, he attracted the attention of collectors in Italy and Switzerland, received commissions, and began collaborations with galleries in Milan, London, and Valencia. His artistic practice is based on the use of real street signs, which he transforms with paintbrushes, markers, and sometimes even gunshot wounds, altering their original meaning and creating street art pieces that reflect his values, thoughts, and emotions. His works range from political and social criticism to ironic, playful, or even crude and violent: each subject is part of a complex puzzle that offers the viewer a glimpse into the world through the artist’s eyes. While also experimenting with a style close to pop art, his focus remains on manipulated urban signage —sometimes minimal, sometimes enriched by characters from cartoons, video games, or films that marked his childhood and adolescence—making each piece a powerful visual commentary on contemporary imagery.
