The Sky of Stories, the Earth of the Real is the third work in the series by Edvige Cecconi Meloni inspired by La Grande Triade by René Guénon. The piece measures 35 × 50 cm and is created using mixed media: watercolor, Ecoline, graphite, and Pantone.
The title traces a vertical map of existence: on one side, stories—myth, imagination, symbol—and on the other, the real—weight, matter, substance. The work does not choose between the two planes; it inhabits both simultaneously, as only art can do.

Description

The composition is structured around an oval element that frames and isolates the central figure. Within this nocturnal space stands a solitary figure dressed in blue and gold, adorned with buttons, belts, fringes, and details that belong simultaneously to medieval theatre and alchemical imagery. Around it extend three faceless masks, each wearing the characteristic headpieces of medieval jesters.

Outside the oval, a golden Baroque frame—rich with decorative flourishes in green, red, and gold—asserts the earth, the body of the world.

The tension between the blue interior (the sky of stories) and the golden exterior (the earth of the real) is the true subject of the work: two registers that coexist, separated by the sharp line of graphite.
