Davide Pieragostini, The Acrobat – Just like a Circus

160,00

Photographic print on an extra-light 20×30 cm panel by digital illustrator Davide Pieragostini, aka Thedamngraphic. The graphic style is clean and powerful: bold black outlines, saturated yet controlled colors (burgundy reds, warm beiges, deep blacks), and graphic patterns (the stripes of the corset, the mesh of the stockings) that create visual rhythm.

Description

A trapeze artist suspended in the air, clinging to the aerial hoop beneath the circus tent. Her large, blue eyes —Thedamngraphic’s unmistakable signature—stare at the viewer with an expression somewhere between wonder and melancholy. Her perfectly curled blonde hair, black and white striped corset, fishnet stockings, black gloves: every detail recalls the vintage aesthetic of the circus of yesteryear.

In the background, the red and beige tent opens up like a spoke, creating dynamic lines that converge toward the center, amplifying the sense of vertigo and spectacle. Ropes, decorated poles, and golden garlands complete the circus-like setting, while the grainy texture of the backdrop adds depth and atmosphere.

The Acrobat is part of the Just Like a Circus series, a project in which Davide Pieragostini explores the circus as a metaphor for life: a stage for extreme emotions, a place of continuous performances, a precarious balance between success and failure. Each illustration in the series captures the melancholic glamour of the circus world—the beauty of the spectacle, the grace of the artists, but also the solitude of performance and the weight of being constantly on the edge.

When life is an acrobatic act, it’s better to have big eyes to look the void in the face.
