Oil on canvas by Polish artist Krystyna Raba-Opacka depicting a landscape in typical autumn colors. The work measures 50 x 50 cm and is a unique piece.

Description

A small wooden bridge spans a small stream, suspended between two tree-lined banks. The green of summer still lingers, but yellow is beginning to emerge among the foliage: the first golden brushstrokes announcing the arrival of autumn. Light filters through the branches, creating clear, silvery gleams, like visual music playing across the canvas.

Autumn Is Near captures the moment of transformation —that suspended moment when one season hasn’t yet ended and the next hasn’t yet begun. Krystyna Raba-Opacka, with her musical sensibility, paints the landscape as if it were a moving composition: the green of the trees is the main theme, the emerging yellow is the variation, the white light is the counterpoint.

The water flows silently in the foreground, rippled with tiny reflections. A few ducks swim peacefully on it, elements of life that add intimacy to the scene. The small bridge is a connecting element, joining the banks and inviting you to cross, but it’s also a resting place where you can pause and feel the change in the air.

The brushstroke is dense and textured, building light through layers. As in music, each tone has its own tempo, its own rhythm, its own function in the overall composition.

Autumn Is Near is an invitation to perceive the time of nature, to listen to the silence that precedes change, to recognize in the fleeting beauty of a late summer afternoon all the poetry of waiting.
