Biography, Projects, and Available Works

Serena Gianoli

Serena Gianoli is an award-winning illustrator and graphic designer based in Milan. Her work is instantly recognizable: geometry and expressiveness coexist in a visual language that transforms ideas, values, and narratives into essential images with a strong emotional impact. Bold lines, vibrant colors, and a precision that never renounces vitality.

Trained at CFP Bauer, the Scuola del Fumetto, and MiMaster Illustrazione in Milan, Serena has developed over time a creative practice that spans publishing, visual identity, muralism, and bespoke projects for companies, festivals, and private clients. Her works do not stop on paper: they inhabit walls, public spaces, and physical surfaces, bringing a clear and distinctive vision into every context.
Pencils, colored pens, and sketchbooks are always in her bag, because for her every place can become a source of inspiration.

A language between rigor and color
Serena Gianoli’s style exists in that fertile space where design meets narrative illustration: the form is clean, constructed, never random — yet within that form something alive, warm, and urgent takes place. Her works speak to the viewer without over-explaining, leaving room for interpretation while maintaining clarity of communication. It is precisely this balance — between the precision of a graphic designer and the freedom of an illustrator — that allows her to move naturally between an editorial cover, an urban mural, and a corporate visual identity project. Serena Gianoli’s work is designed to communicate with precision and leave a lasting impression. Her ability to translate complex concepts into immediate imagery makes her an ideal collaborator for companies seeking to stand out through an authentic visual identity, whether for an editorial project, a visual campaign, or a work intended for a corporate collection.

Collaborations and recognition
Over the course of her career, she has worked with leading organizations such as Apple, Il Sole 24 Ore, North Sails, McDonald’s, and Rizzoli, bringing her style into a wide range of contexts and industries. Her experimental approach has earned her significant international recognition, including a Silver Medal at the Society of Illustrators 65th (2023) in the Surface/Product Design category for the series Anima & Corpo II — and, in 2026, a new selection at the Society of Illustrators 68th with Fabula Populi, a label design project, along with a shortlist in Communication Arts and an award at the Annual 26 Autori di Immagini.

She is a member of Artists for Pride, a collective that promotes inclusivity and rights through art, with which she has exhibited on several occasions in Milan and across Italy.
