Eleonora Gugliotta
Eleonora Gugliotta (Capo d’Orlando, ME, 1989) is an Italian contemporary artist whose practice spans photography, installation, performance, and environmental intervention. Her work delves into the intimate dimension of transformation, the human relationship with nature, and the social structures that shape identity. Trained at an art high school, she initially focused on drawing and graphic design before pursuing a specialisation in Decoration at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan — where she began experimenting with unconventional materials such as wool, hair, and organic filaments. In her hands, these become tangible traces of lived experience, woven into pictorial marks or sculptural lines that forge a dialogue between space and viewer.
Her works — environmental installations, interactive surfaces, photographic and performative projects — rigorously explore the female condition, bodily vulnerability, and nature’s potential to reimagine reality. Career highlights include her first solo exhibition at Piero Manzoni’s former studio in Milan (2015), participation in a Venice Biennale workshop (2017), the Talent Prize at Paratissima Art Fair Turin (2019), and exhibitions at Fondazione Sozzani in Milan and the Norman Tower of Castel di Ieri (AQ) in 2023.
Since 2022, alongside her exhibition practice, Eleonora has run her own Milan atelier, hosting both solo and group shows while teaching Drawing and Painting at an art high school. Each project she undertakes maps a path of introspection, of body meeting space, of a new vision of what is possible. She recently relocated to Australia, where she continues her artistic research within a new natural and cultural context — embracing experimentation and fresh perspectives, both creative and human.
