Description
With Environments #10 – Agitated and Semi-Agitated Section, Eleonora Gugliotta continues her investigation into the relationship between space, body, and memory, choosing the former psychiatric hospital in Rovigo as her setting, a place steeped in silence and invisible presences. The intervention consists of a weave of colored textile threads that cross the corridor once used for the “agitated and semiagitated sections,” making it physically inaccessible but conceptually open to a new reading. The artist reactivates the energy of the space, transforming it from a place of confinement to a place of contemplation.
The weave of threads—a distinctive feature of the Ambienti series —becomes a metaphor for connection, tension, and the mending of memory. Each thread is a line of force that links the past to the rebirth of the present, transfiguring a wounded architecture into an ethereal sculpture. The shot captures the moment in which matter becomes light, restoring a poetic dimension to abandonment. In this vision, Gugliotta translates the artistic act into a healing gesture: the thread, fragile yet resistant, becomes a symbol of resilience and dialogue between art and life, body and space, time and memory.
