Coquelicot

Mafille

With my art I revolve around play, the world of dreams, linguistic spaces, and the nature of human relationships, with the aim of overcoming the boundaries of time, context, and geography.

Coquelicot Mafille

In her work, Coquelicot Mafille blends a variety of multicultural forms and colors, aiming to uncover the common roots of all living things through a representation of nature and the environments that surround us. Her art is a tribute to a universal humanism, where every symbol, sign, and gesture speaks of the vitality and depth of existence. Her style is imbued with an intimate poetry, made of evocative and meaningful images.

Starting with embroidery, one of her original practices, Coquelicot has challenged and redefined the conventional boundaries of this technique, combining it with painting, writing, and other forms of expression. She has created works on canvas, paper, fabric, urban walls, and windows, using diverse materials such as thread, paint, and tape. Her art is, in fact, a continuous exploration and an invitation to embrace an increasingly broad and multifaceted vision of the world.

Coquelicot has exhibited her work in numerous countries, including Italy, France, Morocco, Turkey, and Costa Rica, and has participated in several artist residencies, such as Casa degli Artisti in Milan, 59Rivoli in Paris, and Bocs in Cosenza. She has also collaborated with public and private organizations and led numerous art workshops in schools and museums, sharing her vision and approach with younger generations. Her art has been celebrated in solo and group exhibitions, as well as in urban art mural installations in Italy and abroad.

Throughout her artistic journey, Coquelicot has always sought to build bridges between different cultures and social realities, and her art has become an interpreter of a dialogue that transcends boundaries. Each of her works is an invitation to reflect on the nature of human relationships, the beauty of diversity, and the importance of continuing to explore and grow, as human beings and as artists.
