Agostino

Bergo

One of the most inexplicable and, at the same time, most sensational things I’ve ever witnessed was the response of a mentally disabled, apparently middle-aged, man to a banal question. I asked him, “How old are you?” He replied, “I don’t know.” This man hasn’t simply understood, but lives what, for me, should be Contemporary Art.

In 2013, through the Dante Alighieri Society (Nis – SRB), he completed the cycle “Serbia” (2013) with K. Ivankovic (soprano), worked with D. Dzinic (soprano) on the project “Once upon a time” (2011), and was invited to Knjazevac (SRB) for an artist residency.

In 2021, he was a finalist for the Rosso Passione and Marchionni Prizes and opened a solo exhibition in Turin (Il Firmamento Terreno).

In 2022, his “Madonna della Tenerezza” (2022) was consecrated at the Convent of San Domenico in Chieri (Turin), where, in 2023, his Personal Exhibition (In Sen del Vero) was inaugurated, which was thematically linked to a series of conferences, with the participation of P. Torsi (cellist), Father F. Rubini (pianist and composer), and Father A. Barzaghi (theologian and writer).
