CALL FOR ARTISTS: “ROADSHOW. THE WORKSHOP AND TRAVELING EXHIBITION THAT CROSSES ITALY”

Art4Women is launching a call for artists to artistically decorate a van, which will become the official artwork of the RoadShow: a creative workshop and traveling exhibition that will tour Italy’s main squares. The van won’t just transport the exhibition —it will be a moving work of art, a symbol of energy and collective creativity.

The Project: Art in Motion

The Kia PV5 Cargo electric van will travel with the RoadShow throughout Italy, becoming a visual highlight in every city it visits. The areas to be designed are:

  • Right side panel
  • Left side panel
  • Rear of the vehicle

Three artists‘ projects will be selected, one for each surface of the van.

The artwork should engage with the urban space and diverse audiences, using artistic styles that generate recognition and visual impact in heterogeneous settings.

Curatorial Concept: “Cross. Connect. Transform.”

The RoadShow is a mobile cultural initiative that serves as:

  • Laboratory — a place for producing ideas and innovation
  • Exhibition — a space for visibility and artistic comparison
  • Travel — a shared experience
  • Public action — cultural intervention in urban spaces

    Content Guidelines

Art4Women is a space for freedom of expression, dialogue, and respect. Submitted projects align with the organization’s mission and values, as well as the public purpose of the work, which will be displayed in open spaces and squares for audiences of all ages.

    Reference Color Palette

To maintain visual consistency across the van’s surfaces and ensure the project’s recognizability in cities, we provide a reference color palette for inspiration. Its use is indicative: artists are free to interpret it, expand upon it, or vary its nuances according to their own vision, while maintaining the overall harmony of the work. It is not mandatory to use all colors; the artist can choose a selection consistent with their proposal. Additional colors are permitted if they harmonize with this base.

    What we offer
    • Production and application of the wrapping will be handled by the organization
    • Visibility in all cities visited during the RoadShow
    • Promotion through print and digital channels across all Art4Women platforms
    • Compensation of €300 for each selected artist
    Project selection and presentation

The project will officially launch on Friday, April 17, during Milan Art Week 2026, with an exhibition at the Art4Women headquarters, Via Durando 38 in Milan. The three winning artists will be announced during the evening event.

    Strategic vision

The RoadShow is a traveling cultural device that:

    • Engages local communities and encourages intergenerational comparison
    • Transforms urban landscapes into a space for dialogue
    • Highlights the role of art in social change
    • Generates authentic content for print, digital, and social media

The van will be photographed, shared, and talked about in every city. It will become the recognizable symbol of the RoadShow and the visual manifesto of Art4Women as it travels througout Italy.
