Philosophy and music do not merely accompany the images; they interact with them, creating new narrative layers

Andrea Boccadoro

Andrea Boccadoro is an award-winning Italian-British composer specialising in soundtracks for film, television, and video games. With over 12 feature films, 50 short films, and three video games to his name, he has built an international career spanning prestigious festivals, acclaimed independent productions, and innovative gaming projects.

Born in Rome, Andrea combines a humanistic education — a degree in Philosophy from La Sapienza University of Rome — with outstanding musical training: a diploma in Composition from the Conservatorio Luisa D’Annunzio in Pescara and a Master’s in Composition for Screen from the Royal College of Music in London. This dual identity, philosophical and musical, is reflected in soundtracks that do not simply accompany images, but enter into dialogue with them, creating new layers of narrative.

Represented by the historic London agency Air-Edel Associates — the same agency as Academy Award-winning composer Dario Marianelli, with whom he collaborated as orchestrator on Matteo Garrone’s Pinocchio — Andrea works regularly with international directors and production companies from Canada, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

Among his most recent works are Honey Bunch (2025), a psychological thriller starring Jason Isaacs and Kate Dickie, presented at the Berlinale International Film Festival, and After the Fire (2023), a French drama screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. In Italy, he has scored Pappi Corsicato’s Perfetta Illusione, Hleb Papou’s Il Legionario (winner at Locarno), and the RAI documentary on Sergio Marchionne.

In the field of video games, Andrea composed the soundtrack for Card Shark (published by Devolver Digital), nominated at the Music + Sound Awards 2022, and for Astrologaster, which earned him a nomination at the Independent Games Festival and three nominations at the G.A.N.G. Awards.

Since 2016, he has been a lecturer in Film Composition at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he mentors a class of ten young composers, passing on his expertise in building musical narratives for the screen.

Andrea Boccadoro lives and works in London, part of a vibrant international music scene where creativity and collaboration continuously fuel new projects.
