CALL FOR ARTISTS: “SOFT BOUNDARIES” Art and Design for the Lake Como Design Festival 2026
Art4Women is opening a call reserved for its artist community for the selection of an artistic project to be submitted to the Lake Como Design Festival 2026, as part of the collaboration with ReWeave LA, an international design company and A4W partner that works with an archive of reclaimed and precious fabrics.
The initiative is currently under review by the Festival and will therefore only go ahead upon confirmation of the project’s acceptance.
The Project: Soft Boundaries
Soft Boundaries is a project that brings contemporary art, design and sustainability into dialogue through the artistic customisation of a ReWeave LA design pouffe.
The object becomes a narrative surface, capable of transforming from a functional element into a work of art, reflecting on the concept of boundary as a space of encounter, transformation and relationship. Each proposal should interpret this theme freely through the artist’s own artistic language.
What we are looking for::
We are looking for an Art4Women community artist to develop the decoration concept for the pouffe, maintaining a balance between artistic value and production feasibility.
Painterly, material, textile or mixed techniques are all welcome, provided they are compatible with the surface and with potential future production.
To apply, please submit:
- a sketch of the project (digital or hand-drawn);
- a brief description of the concept;
- the technique you intend to use to realise the work.
The sketch should allow the selection panel to clearly understand the project idea and its development on the pouffe.

Application deadline: 17 June 2026
Selection announcement: 18 June 2026

The call is open exclusively to artists who are part of the Art4Women community.
Participation is free of charge.
One artist will be selected.

What we offer

- €400 fee for the selected artist
Should the project go into production and commercialisation, any royalties will be defined through a separate agreement, to be established if and when the product enters production.
Selection and project presentation
The project is currently under review by the Lake Como Design Festival. The production of the prototype and its exhibition are therefore subject to official acceptance of the submission by the Festival organisation.
