Giada
Grasso
My creations are not just visual compositions, but profound reflections on self-awareness. I explore the cognitive gaps and biases that influence life’s recurring cycles, encouraging viewers to examine their own internal experiences and their connection to the outside world.
Biography, Projects, and Available Works
Giada Grasso
Giada Grasso, born in 1998 and raised in Ceva (Province of Cuneo), is a self-taught artist who works with oil painting and chose Milan, where she moved in 2023, as the base of her creative activity.
The context of a small town and the personal vicissitudes linked to adolescence have fueled in her a need for authentic expression and the discovery of the pictorial medium as a tool for introspection. Since 2020, studying the plates of the Rorschach Test, Grasso has visually elaborated on duality and the human psyche by transforming ink stains into painted images that explore identity and perception.
Her work lies between realism and surrealism, with settings in intense blue tones and a focus on chiaroscuro that recalls the figurative tradition reinterpreted in a contemporary key.
She has received recognition, including being shortlisted as one of the Special Prize winners for the 2024 Arte Laguna Prize (NY20+ residency in Sichuan, China).
Her exhibitions include “Six in Venice” at the Ruzzini Palace in Venice (April–November 2024), where she presented works born from the dialogue between the “self” and the reflection in the other, and from the relationship with the surrounding context.
With a contemporary perspective on social constructs and internal experiences, Giada Grasso creates a visual language that invites the viewer to reflect on the fragmentation of identity and the search for self, through a painting that is both personal and universal.
