Description
Stardust is a large-format oil on canvas (130 × 170 × 2 cm) created by Sveva Ambrosoli in 2025.
A female face, painted in luminous blue, emerges from a vibrant yellow background. The hands hold the face as if it were a mask, detached from a real body, while the fingers press into the cheeks, adding a tactile sensation to the composition. The left eye is adorned with a red star, echoing the title of the work and introducing another break from reality.
In Ambrosoli’s aesthetic – deeply influenced by the surrealist photography of Dora Maar, as well as Pop Art and the intensity of fashion photography – color plays a fundamental role in constructing the composition.
