Description
Wren is part of a series of portraits by Silvia Bigolin, freely inspired by “The Falls,” a book by Peter Greenaway that collects 92 fictional biographies of victims of Unidentified Violent Events, all connected to birds and flight. Life after a U.V.E. is marked by mysterious physical, metabolic, mental, and linguistic mutations. Through the convex surface of the eye, we watch these figures take on new traits. Wren, specifically, suffers from an excessive production of phlegm that makes her mumble and contaminates whatever she eats. Bigolin portrays her with a hand covering her mouth and an enigmatic gaze.
