Description
Gabriela Opacka began her violin journey by winning third prize at the Young Paganini International Violin Competition in 2012, paving the way for a solo and orchestral career that has taken her to stages around the world.
Since 2016, she has been the first violin section of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, regularly collaborating with the greatest conductors and soloists on the international scene. Her orchestral experience also includes leadership roles: she was concerto soloist with the YPHIL International Philharmonic Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in New York and violin soloist with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to her symphonic work, Gabriela is a passionate chamber musician. She released a Ravel duo album with British harpist Oliver Wass, a project that led them to the semi-finals of the prestigious Concert Artist Guild in New York. She regularly participates in the most exclusive chamber music festivals, including IMS Prussia Cove in Cornwall.
As a session musician, Gabriela is in high demand in the world of film soundtracks and theatre productions. She has recorded for films, TV series, and West End musicals (including Frozen), collaborating regularly with internationally renowned composers and recording at Abbey Road and AIR Studios in London.
Her teaching activities include international masterclasses and teaching at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she transmits her passion for chamber and symphonic repertoire to new generations.
