Description
Emersion is the story of a rebirth: a new self that asserts itself despite the wounds that force one to hide behind a protective mask. In this work, Diletta Ferretti seeks to capture the essence of a soul that returns to reveal itself.
The subject seems to emerge from material folds that form a symbolic mask. Fingers help lift this barrier: external hands that support the process of inner rediscovery. The face and hands are immersed in a completely black background, a timeless space that gives the character a universal theme.
The dry pastel technique is enriched by gauze inserts placed in the folds, material elements that make the presence of the mask tangible and heavy like moments of pain or difficulty.
With Emersion the artist suggests that, despite the weight of wounds, it is possible to be reborn.
