Description
Red as a total state of mind. In Kaleidos Red Passion, Franchi chooses to immerse the entire composition in a passionate monochrome that overwhelms the gaze and ignites the senses. There is no background or foreground: everything is red, everything is passion, everything is vital urgency.
The work’s centerpiece is a classically inspired face, with a heavy, magnetic eye that gazes at the viewer with archaic intensity. The Greek profile—an iconography dear to Franchi—appears on the right side, while a stylized human figure stands out on the left, suspended in a weightless space. The lips, drawn with a clean, sensual gesture in the lower part of the composition, recall the tradition of early Mediterranean Women, reinterpreted through the mature filter of the Kaleidos language.
Geometric shapes—diamonds, rectangles, triangles, stairways—float around the profiles like fragments of urban architecture and visual memory. The wavy lines at the edges create a pulsating, vibrating effect, as if the work itself were breathing and throbbing to the rhythm of the passion that pervades it.
Created in 2019, Kaleidos Red Passion represents one of the most lyrical and visually powerful moments of the Kaleidos cycle: a work that describes passion, transforming color into pure emotion.
