Unique work from 2021 by Carlo Massimo Franchi, made with a mixed technique on canvas, measuring 100x100x2.5 cm

Description

A burst of solar energy that captures the vital essence of summer through the language of Kaleidos. Golden yellow dominates the composition as a primary force, invading the canvas with the same irrepressible intensity as summer light at its peak.

Against the gold background, the fragmented architecture typical of Franchi’s visual vocabulary emerges: geometric structures, square and rhomboid shapes, and metropolitan views that overlap in a tight, dynamic rhythm. The classical Greek profile—a recurring iconographic element in the Kaleidos cycle —appears on the right side, outlined in brilliant gold against a dark background, a silent witness to the surrounding urban chaos.

Blues and turquoises burst forth as a chromatic counterpoint, creating intense optical vibrations and a sense of depth that characterizes the artist’s mixed media. Scratching black lines crisscross the surface like urban writing, traces of contemporary energy. Purple and pink accents emerge between the layers like buried chromatic memories.

A Kaleidos that celebrates the present in all its complexity and vitality: color as a vital force, the city as a landscape of the soul.
