Description

Barbara Pastorino‘s canvas has a powerful expressiveness that captures the essence of Leopardi’s famous dialogue, translating the contrast between man and the indifference of nature into visual form. The composition develops through a dynamic interplay of layered textures and chromatic contrasts: from bright white and delicate blues that evoke human purity and fragility, we move towards deep amber and brown tones that dominate the right part of the canvas, symbolizing the primordial and inscrutable force of nature. The vertical lines that cross the surface like drops suspended in time add a sense of movement and tension, while the material textures – achieved with acrylic and pigments – give the work a tangible, almost tactile physical presence.
